About The Position

As an expert Digital Implementation and Signoff Field Applications Engineer, you will work alongside leading-edge customers to help deploy Cadence technologies in synthesis, place and route, and signoff. You will help customers meet or exceed PPA targets, close designs faster, and turn design concepts into reality. The role also works directly with Cadence R&D to communicate customer requirements and influence future products and technologies. Through customer engagements, you will build expertise in nanometer design and digital implementation while developing communication, customer, and sales skills.

Requirements

• 10 or more years of industry physical design experience.
• Strong knowledge of digital design fundamentals, semiconductor fundamentals, and static timing analysis.
• Experience with IC digital implementation flows and backend EDA tools, including place and route, IR drop, and backend design timing and power closure.
• Experience with advanced nodes of 10nm and below.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong personal drive for continuous learning and expanding professional skill sets.
• Strong verbal, written, and customer communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with IC digital implementation flows and front-end EDA tools, including synthesis, DFT, and logical equivalence checking.
• Experience with Cadence tools such as Genus, Innovus, Conformal, Tempus, Modus, and Voltus, or with ICC, ICC2, DC, or PrimeTime.
• Experience with advanced nodes of 5nm and below.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Cadence customers in backend digital design implementation and signoff, including place and route, design closure, and timing and power signoff.
• Guide customers in using Cadence technologies to achieve design goals and meet project schedules.
• Collaborate with the team on technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Drive technical evaluations and benchmarks to success.
• Work with R&D to improve tools and methodologies to meet and exceed customer requirements.
• Drive adoption and proliferation of Cadence tools and technologies.
• Guide the team in amending and augmenting flows using Tcl or other programming skills to meet objectives and improve results.
• Capture best practices and lessons learned from evaluations and benchmarks to improve efficiency and success in future engagements.
