Physical Collateral Examination Associate
About The Position
Wells Fargo is seeking a Physical Collateral Examination Associate within Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Team. The territory is based in Austin, Texas or Round Rock, Texas. The role involves participating in audits of floor plan inventory at various dealerships and companies, performing physical inspections of dealer inventories, and reconciling them with business records. The associate will review approval requests, ensure completion of operating and action measures, and inspect the physical existence of collateral, verifying borrower records for adherence to loan structures. The role also includes receiving direction from a supervisor for customer inquiries and disputes, reconciling discrepancies, assessing collateral condition, and reporting findings. Building customer relationships through setting inspection expectations, answering questions, and providing support is key. The associate will also schedule and route daily travel to customer locations, potentially involving overnight stays, to assess inventory condition and provide prompt, accurate reporting. The role may also involve responding to customer inquiries, documentation issues, billing errors, disputes, and program changes.
Requirements
- 6+ months of Collateral Examination experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Must be willing to travel overnight up to 50% of the time
- Ability to push/pull 50 pounds and lift 25 pounds
- Ability to work in outdoor environments up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to travel daily with 4 or more hours of driving per day
- Reliable transportation for daily business travel
- Must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance
- Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo. Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired.

Responsibilities
- Participate in audits of floor plan inventory at various dealerships and companies
- Perform physical inspections of dealer inventories and reconcile with business records through effective communications with account managers
- Review approval requests and ensure completion of all operating and action measures within established timeframes
- Inspect physical existence of collateral and verify the borrowers' records to determine adherence to approve loan structure
- Receive direction from supervisor to ensure accurate responses on customer inquiries and disputes
- Reconcile discrepancies with the customer and document details to support final inventory inspection results
- Exercise judgment in determining the cause of discrepancies and disposing of any variances
- Assess condition of collateral with prompt and accurate reporting to confirm the collateralized position
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Build relationships with customers through setting inspection expectations, answering questions, providing support with payment systems and raising customer growth inquiries to our commercial and portfolio teams
- Schedule and route daily travel to customer locations within an assigned geographic area, incorporating overnight stays to reduce travel time for optimum productivity
- Performs physical inspections of commercial business inventories to assess their condition to provide prompt and accurate reporting
- Covers jobs performing physical inspections of commercial business inventories to assess their condition in order to provide prompt and accurate reporting to confirm their collateralized position
- May also be involved in responding to customer inquiries, questions, documentation issues, billing errors, disputes, and program changes
