About The Position

The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is an intensive five-day treatment program serving children and adolescents ages 5 through 17 who are experiencing emotional or behavioral problems. Patients follow a personalized treatment plan for therapy and medication management. They are only required to be in the hospital during their scheduled PHP hours. JOB SUMMARY: The Program Specialist provides direct patient care. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and activities of daily living. The Program Specialist is additionally responsible for the implantation of programs, training and the schedule.

Requirements

High School Diploma required
Minimum of 1 year prior experience with behavioral management of acute child/adolescent individuals required
BLS Provider certification through the American Heart Association required upon completion of orientation
CPI certification required upon completion of orientation
BLS Provider certifications must remain active throughout employment
CPI certifications must remain active throughout employment
Knowledge of psychiatric group processes
Knowledge of therapeutic relationships processes
Knowledge of age specific growth and development
Knowledge of limit setting and behavior management
Knowledge of CPI leadership skills
Knowledge of diagnostic understanding behind behaviors often exhibited within milieu
Knowledge of CPR training
Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, pre-adolescents, adolescents and adult patients.

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Masters Degree in Psychology or related field strongly preferred
4-5 years experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred
