Emory University's Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a full-time photon physicist for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. This role operates under the guidance of the Director of Medical Physics and contributes to the department's clinical, teaching, and research activities across multiple sites in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The department is a key part of Winship, a National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and is deeply integrated into multidisciplinary cancer care, treating over 4,000 patients annually. The department utilizes advanced technology including multiple Varian™ and Elekta™ linear accelerators, a proton therapy center, Gamma Knife®, brachytherapy afterloaders, and various CT, MR, and PET scanners. All linear accelerators are equipped with IGRT and respiratory motion management. The oncology information system is ARIA® with Eclipse™ and RayStation© treatment planning systems. The department has a strong research program, with faculty holding significant grant funding and publishing extensively. It comprises over 70 faculty members across several divisions and offers accredited training programs for medical physics and radiation oncology residents. Emory physics faculty also collaborate with Georgia Tech's medical physics programs. The Medical Physics Division has a federally funded research program in areas like artificial intelligence and image-guided radiotherapy.
