About The Position

Performs venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to obtain blood samples for testing. Identifies patients and follows procedures for specimen collection. Enters blood collection information into the laboratory computer system, including the time drawn, time received, and appropriate phlebotomy code. Picks up samples from nursing units as required and performs other related duties assigned by the Supervisor.

The position is with the DeKalb Lab at DeKalb Regional Medical Center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy procedures training course from an accredited school or training program is preferred.
• One year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.
