About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor in Tulsa, OK. This role involves leading a team of over 25 phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices. The supervisor will manage patient flow, wait times, inventory, and productivity. Key responsibilities include coordinating schedules, performing operational duties like payroll and performance appraisals, partnering with HR on employee relations, and hiring/training new phlebotomists. The role requires effective communication with internal and external customers, providing exceptional customer service, assisting with new site setups, resolving patient/client issues, and performing specimen collection/preparation as needed. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 5 years or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Be at least 21 years’ old
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of (+25) phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary
