The Phlebotomy Supervisor will be responsible for a variety of tasks including computer data entry, filing, telephone communication, and other clerical duties. This role requires adequate knowledge of laboratory terminology and the ability to demonstrate proper phlebotomy techniques for patients of all ages. The supervisor will process various types of specimens, manage supplies, maintain cleanliness of laboratory areas, and operate automated laboratory instrumentation. Key responsibilities also include staff performance evaluations, training, competency assessment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and laboratory policies. The supervisor will also contribute to quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, and may assist with sample pick-up, sorting, and other administrative tasks as assigned by the department manager/director. The role may also involve performing CLIA waived testing after appropriate training.
