Phlebotomists are responsible for efficiently and accurately performing blood draws and assisting with other minor laboratory test on patients. This position has much interaction with nursing staff and other hospital departments. Phlebotomist I can expect to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently. This position also requires frequent stooping, sitting, reaching, bending and kneeling. The incumbent may also be required to carry items up to 50 pounds. Near visual acuity is required. Hours may be irregular to accommodate department staffing requirements. This position is subject to inside environmental changes that may include constant change in temperatures and minimal exposure to cleaning, staining, and testing chemicals.
