About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join their team. This role involves performing blood collections, processing specimens, data entry, and providing customer service. The Phlebotomist Float will travel to various locations within the Fountain Valley, CA area, including Huntington Beach, Buena Park, Manhattan Beach, and Newport Beach. This position offers the opportunity to gain diverse experience working with various patients, team members, and locations, fostering skill development and potential for growth within the organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• California state issued Phlebotomy license (CPT)
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

• 1 year or more of experience as phlebotomist
• Current or Prior experience at LabCorp
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency (in lieu of work experience)
• 3 months or more phlebotomist experiences with Geriatrics and Pediatric patients
• Bilingual with proficiency in Spanish and English
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Ability to work in fast paced / high volume work environments

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
