About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join their team in Irvine, CA. This role involves covering various locations including Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and Irvine, with a work schedule that can vary Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, with additional days/hours as needed, including some Saturdays. The Float Phlebotomist will perform blood collections, process specimens, handle data entry and billing, provide customer service, and travel to additional sites when needed. This position offers the opportunity to gain diverse experience with various patients, team members, and locations, fostering skill development and continuous growth within the organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• California state issued Phlebotomy license (CPT)
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency (in lieu of work experience)
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Ability to work in fast paced / high volume work environments
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

• 2 year or more of experience as phlebotomist
• Current or Prior experience at LabCorp

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
