About The Position

Saint Mary's Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist for their Physician Blood Draw Department. This part-time, day shift position offers the opportunity to work independently as part of a specialized team. The role involves obtaining blood specimens, processing them for analysis, and ensuring accurate patient registration. Flexibility to cover various Physician Blood Draw locations is essential.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and completion of phlebotomy program
Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a blood draw station, ambulatory care or acute care setting.
Knowledge in the use of information system
Strong communication skills
Ability to effectively work and communicate with patients, staff and outside providers
Ability to take initiative and work alone

Nice To Haves

Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods
Labels all specimens following laboratory policy
Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens
Flexibility to cover other sites when necessary
