About The Position

This role involves working closely with laboratory personnel to facilitate laboratory tests, maintaining a positive patient interaction, and collaborating with nursing staff. The phlebotomist will assist patients and physicians with test preparation information and schedule patients for testing.

Requirements

  • Ability to read well enough to follow instructions, write legibly, have good communication skills and a moderate degree of manual dexterity
  • Must be a registered CPT Phlebotomist or equivalent
  • BLS certification required

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with all laboratory personnel to facilitate the performance of laboratory tests as ordered by the physician
  • Maintains a pleasant and friendly attitude with patients and tries to answer their questions to the best of their ability
  • Interacts with nursing personnel in the completion of laboratory requisitions and the charting
  • Assists patients and physicians in acquiring correct information about preparation for testing
  • Schedules patients for testing
