About The Position

Performs a variety of phlebotomy procedures and/or patient point-of-care testing in support of clinical activities in the healthcare system. The role consults with healthcare providers and patients about care related to phlebotomy services, ensures the quality and accuracy of work, and investigates problems involving equipment, patient results, specimens, or workflow. The position may participate in teams or special projects, teach or train new employees, phlebotomy students, or other healthcare providers, and review test results for accurate reporting and timely correction of errors or report results to healthcare providers. It also performs phlebotomy procedures, quality control, and equipment maintenance in the laboratory; ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks; and monitors daily laboratory work-area operations.

Requirements

One year of phlebotomy experience, or graduation from a phlebotomy program with no prior experience.
No education is required if other position qualifications are met.
No licensure or certification is required.

Responsibilities

Ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks and monitors daily operation of the laboratory work area.
