This is a part-time, 2nd shift position for a Phlebotomist at Good Shepherd, working an 8-hour shift with start times varying between 1:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. The role requires rotating weekends and holidays. The Phlebotomist is responsible for verifying patient identification, assessing patient reactions to specimen procurement, performing venipuncture, and collecting various specimens from patients of all age groups according to established protocols. The position also involves performing limited testing under CLIA guidelines, answering phones, assisting with inventory and supplies, processing specimens for testing, ordering and verifying test requests, documenting information for quality assurance, running quality control checks, notifying providers of critical results, performing laboratory result entry, and instructing employees and students in phlebotomy and related functions. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served.
