About The Position
Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect specimens for laboratory analysis and prepare them for processing. The role also greets and receives patients in a professional, warm, and efficient manner; registers patients using laboratory software to support proper specimen processing; and helps maximize in-house laboratory processing. The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture, verifies that laboratory orders are available and patients are registered, processes specimens for internal and external processing, and manages the laboratory area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a phlebotomy training program.
- Two years of experience in a laboratory.
Nice To Haves
- Phlebotomy certification is highly preferred.
- Oncology experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
