About The Position
Assists technologists and Specimen Acquisition Coordinator in venipuncture and capillary blood collections on inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Department patients. Assists when necessary with clerical work. The work is repetitive in nature and follows standard procedures with little room for deviation. The employee must exercise courtesy and tact while dealing with patients. Work is performed under general supervision following a period of rigid on-the-job training and is checked by observation and quality control procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care in the assigned department.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development.
- Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.
- Interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's age-specific needs.
- Provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures.
- Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
