About The Position

An exciting career awaits you at Pomerene Hospital. We are looking for a part-time Phlebotomist to join our team. Working hours are between 5:00AM - 7:30PM. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED- Required.
  • BLS Certification- Required (May be completed during orientation period).
  • Six to eight weeks of on-the-job training (orientation period).

Nice To Haves

  • PBT (ASCP) or Equivalent- Preferred.
  • 1-3 Years of Experience as a Phlebotomist in a Healthcare/Medical Setting- Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ordering lab tests in CPSI
  • Drawing blood
  • Retrieving lab specimens from throughout outside facilities
  • Clerical duties
  • Maintaining supplies in draw stations
  • Moves throughout the facility, appropriately assists in emergency drills and performs the physical requirements needed to deliver services as assigned.
  • Performs phlebotomy responsibilities of this position in the hospital setting according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with customers and develops a positive perception of the hospital.
  • Follows safety protocols according to established department policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
  • Delivers service that builds customer satisfaction in all facilities.
  • Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient. Includes PSP / family member in explanations/discussions of testing, procedures and discharge instructions when applicable.
