About The Position

UW Health Clinics is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages and help provide patients’ providers with information to support diagnosis and treatment. The role also includes patient check-in, entering laboratory test orders in the laboratory information system, and receiving and processing specimens. The position is full-time, 100% FTE, with scheduled hours Monday through Friday. Start times are between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, and end times are between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM. Hours may vary according to departmental operational needs. No weekends or holidays are required at this time. The position may be eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program and clinical rotation preferred.
• One year of experience in phlebotomy and/or healthcare preferred.
• Phlebotomist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages.
• Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
• Receive and process specimens.
• Check in patients and enter laboratory test orders in the laboratory information system.
