About The Position

Sentara Medical Group is seeking a Phlebotomist. This role involves operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and is responsible for handling both internal and external customer inquiries and problem resolution. The Phlebotomist will frequently interact with hospital and physician office staff. The position may also involve performing EKG and glucose meter tests, and may require working at the patient's bedside.

Requirements

BLS within 90 days of hire
Completion of a Phlebotomy Program or Course in lieu of 1 year experience in Phlebotomy
HS Degree or GED Required
Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI Certification

Responsibilities

Operates and maintains laboratory equipment
Responsible for both internal and external customer inquiries and problem resolution
Frequently interacts with hospital and physician office staff
May perform EKG and glucose meter
Maybe at the patient's bedside
