About The Position

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in the area of Independence, MO is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Phlebotomist to join their clinical team. This role is responsible for obtaining high-quality blood specimens while ensuring patient comfort and safety in a behavioral health setting. The new hospital, expected to open in the second half of 2026, will serve children and adolescents, adults and seniors with innovative and evidence-based inpatient behavioral healthcare. It will feature 120 licensed beds, span over 88,000 square feet, and include an activity yard and gym. The hospital aims to create over 200 new, full-time jobs when fully operational.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program required
• Strong attention to detail and patient care skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy certification (CPT, PBT, or equivalent) preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred
• Experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws accurately and efficiently
• Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
• Prepare and transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory
• Monitor patients during and after collection to ensure comfort and safety
• Maintain and stock phlebotomy supplies and equipment
• Accurately document procedures in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to support patient care
