About The Position
Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut, is hiring a part-time Phlebotomist. The role obtains blood specimens, processes laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and provides patient information to the appropriate caregiver. This work supports the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients. The position is 24 hours per week on a day shift, listed as 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. The schedule includes every other weekend and rotating holidays. The role may occasionally include working in processing at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Cancer Center.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program.
- At least one year of phlebotomy experience.
Nice To Haves
- National certification in phlebotomy is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Identify patients according to policy and perform venipuncture using standard or butterfly methods.
- Label all specimens according to laboratory policy.
- Receive, cancel, order, and process laboratory and microbiology specimens.
- Provide patient information to the appropriate caregiver.
