About The Position

The Delivery Driver provides excellent customer service while safely and efficiently delivering products from Loeb Electric’s main warehouse to retail branches and customer locations in and around Columbus. When deliveries are complete, the driver may perform warehouse duties as needed, including moving material, cleaning the warehouse dock, and loading and unloading trucks while maintaining a safe warehouse environment. The role involves operating delivery vehicles, verifying and securing materials, completing delivery documentation, and following routes and road-safety requirements. It also includes vehicle inspections and maintenance, customer interactions at delivery sites, and operation of warehouse equipment. The position works both inside vehicles and outdoors and requires physical activity such as lifting, carrying, standing, walking, climbing, and loading and unloading materials. The stated shift is 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

Ability to drive a 26-foot box truck and a flatbed truck.
2–5 years of driving and delivery experience.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
High school diploma or GED.
Excellent knowledge of the Central Ohio area and its roadways.
Courteous and friendly disposition, with the ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
Ability to provide customer service that exceeds customer expectations.
Highest ethical standards and integrity.
Proficiency using GPS and other routing systems; an innate sense of direction.
Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful, with composure and good stress management.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to operate material-moving equipment such as electric lifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance or material-handling equipment.
Ability to meet the role’s physical and sensory demands, including frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling; prolonged driving; and the vision, hearing, and communication abilities needed to work safely.
Ability to work inside vehicles and outdoors in varying weather conditions, traffic, dust, and noise.
Ability to wear and maintain required personal protective equipment, such as safety shoes, gloves, a high-visibility vest, and hard hats, as directed.

Responsibilities

Safely operate the assigned delivery vehicle and follow predetermined routes to make timely deliveries.
Provide courteous, excellent customer service when interacting with customers.
Load and unload trucks with electrical materials, including copper or aluminum wire and steel or PVC pipe.
Assist customers with unloading deliveries and provide the correct delivery paperwork.
Lift skids of material from the truck to branches without assistance.
Verify material quantities and descriptions against the packing list before departure.
Secure materials on the truck to prevent damage or breakage.
Obtain customer signatures and take pictures to confirm and complete deliveries.
Communicate with the Transportation Supervisor and/or Manager as needed.
Inspect the vehicle before and after each trip.
Maintain and service the vehicle as needed, including refueling, changing oil, checking tire pressure, and arranging repairs.
Notify managers of major vehicle maintenance or delivery issues.
Obey traffic laws and adapt driving to weather and road conditions.
Safely operate necessary warehouse equipment.
Perform warehouse duties as needed, including moving material, cleaning the delivery dock, loading and unloading trucks, and auditing material.
Work outdoors and stand for prolonged periods while carrying out dock cleaning and material handling activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
