About The Position

Euola is seeking phlebotomists to join our team at the prestigious VA Maine Healthcare Center in Maine. This role involves performing skilled venipuncture procedures on diverse patient populations, collecting blood samples using various techniques, and ensuring thorough patient identification. The phlebotomist will also handle special collection requirements, assist patients with mobility challenges, process and prepare specimens, and maintain proper storage conditions. Additionally, the role requires using the VA's electronic health record system for order management and documentation.

Requirements

• Current Phlebotomy Certification
• Current BLS Certification
• 2+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent patient care abilities

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled venipuncture procedures on diverse patient populations
• Collect blood samples using various techniques (straight needle, butterfly, etc.)
• Practice thorough patient identification using VA's two-identifier system
• Respond professionally to patient concerns and questions
• Handle special collection requirements for specific tests
• Assist patients with mobility challenges
• Process and prepare specimens for testing or transport
• Maintain proper storage conditions for specimens
• Use VA's electronic health record system for order management and documentation
