About The Position
Cetechs, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, is seeking dedicated Phlebotomists to join our team at the prestigious VA Maine Healthcare Center in Maine. This role involves performing skilled venipuncture procedures on diverse patient populations and contributing to the healthcare of veterans.
Requirements
- Current Phlebotomy Certification
- Current BLS Certification
- 2+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent patient care abilities
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled venipuncture procedures on diverse patient populations
- Collect blood samples using various techniques (straight needle, butterfly, etc.)
- Practice thorough patient identification using VA's two-identifier system
- Respond professionally to patient concerns and questions
- Handle special collection requirements for specific tests
- Assist patients with mobility challenges
- Process and prepare specimens for testing or transport
- Maintain proper storage conditions for specimens
- Use VA's electronic health record system for order management and documentation
