Part-Time Phlebotomist
About The Position
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented, and goal-driven Part-Time Phlebotomist in Cullman, Alabama. The role supports blood donation operations by collecting blood, assessing donor eligibility, accurately identifying donors throughout the process, and providing customer service. The position may also assist with donor recruitment and rescheduling and convert donors to automated apheresis technology when appropriate. The starting salary range is $15.50–$17.05 per hour. A criminal background check and drug screen are required upon a conditional offer of hire.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain LifeSouth driver eligibility requirements.
- Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- Previous customer service experience.
- CDL; additional compensation is available.
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures.
- Collect blood using automated instruments once trained.
- Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth computer system (IBBIS).
- Determine donor eligibility based on the donor interview and physical process.
- Accurately identify donors at every step of the donation process.
- Assist with donor recruitment, tele-recruitment, and rescheduling.
- Convert donors to automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
