About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist for an inpatient hospital position in Warren, Michigan. The role performs skilled specimen collections and provides customer service as a representative of the company. The position offers opportunities for continued growth within the organization.

The schedule is part time, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., working two to three rotating days per week and every other weekend. Travel to additional sites may be needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and a clean driving record, if applicable.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy certification or completion of a training program.
• Six months or more of experience as a phlebotomist.
• A certification or completed training program from an accredited agency may substitute for work experience.
• A proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and similar purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
