Phlebotomist: 20 Hours Per Week (AM)
About The Position
Ascension Alexian Brothers is seeking a Phlebotomist for 20 hours per week, with morning shifts. This role involves collecting blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens. Duties include patient registration, data entry, specimen accessioning, answering phones, and processing paperwork. Specimen processing involves preparing specimens for testing or shipment. The individual will handle blood, body fluid, and urine specimens, and may perform limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests. In some facilities, this role may also involve driving and participating in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- May be required to travel/drive to other locations
Nice To Haves
- Background in a medical laboratory
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
Responsibilities

- Acting as a driver and participating in the on-call rotation (as required in some facilities)
