About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Leader to join their team in Hickory, NC. This role involves providing coverage and performing phlebotomy duties at various sites, assisting in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists, conducting site inspections, and providing continuous training. The Team Leader will also manage patient flow, address customer service issues, and promote teamwork. The position requires performing all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 3 years experience as a phlebotomist
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • In depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortably working under minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • Be at least 21 years’ old

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years phlebotomy experience
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties
  • Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites
  • Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor
  • Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings
  • Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed
  • Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Address any customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
  • Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and making schedule adjustments as needed
  • Promote team work, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers
  • Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed
