Frederick Health is seeking a phlebotomist registrar to work on an as needed basis to assist with high morning patient volumes. This role supports the Frederick Health mission, vision, and core values, and adheres to the Compliance Program. The Phlebotomist Registrar is responsible for obtaining accurate demographic and insurance information prior to services to reduce financial risk. They collect specimens, ensure specimen integrity, and perform positive patient identification, labeling, processing, and handling. The role involves entering patient demographics for registration and order entry, resolving ambiguous test orders, and ensuring appropriate insurance eligibility and authorizations. Additionally, the position is responsible for point-of-service collection of patient cost-sharing amounts, referring patients to Financial Counselors when necessary, and ensuring the cash drawer is managed appropriately. Effective communication with all customers is essential, demonstrating good judgment, clear and credible speech, and excellent listening and customer service skills. If responsible for bleeding times, the individual must meet CLIA qualifications for moderate complexity testing personnel.
