About The Position

The Phlebotomist/Processor collects, transports, and processes laboratory specimens at Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville, Ohio. The posting lists a part-time evening shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM and a full-time night shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM; both include weekend and holiday rotation.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to walk 5–7 miles daily and stand for the entire shift.
• Adhere to safety, ergonomic, and health policies, including PPE requirements in laboratory or biohazard areas.
• Complete required safety training and health evaluations promptly.
• Take a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety hazards.

Nice To Haves

• Some experience or training in phlebotomy or laboratory science is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures according to departmental procedures.
• Accurately label and prepare specimens for testing or transport.
• Complete requisitions and manage specimen receipt using computer systems.
• Deliver specimens to testing areas.
• Maintain equipment and assist with problem-solving related to patient draws and orders.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and departmental policies.
• Conduct inventory checks.
• Train new employees.
• Maintain a safe work environment and promote safety awareness.
