About The Position

Purcell Municipal Hospital is hiring a full-time Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant for its Laboratory Department. Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the phlebotomist performs specimen collection for patients of all age groups and carries out basic clerical and customer service duties with initiative, kindness, and professionalism. The role requires the physical abilities needed to handle and assist patients and perform phlebotomy tasks. Some holiday work may be required.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Related experience, including on-the-job or classroom training in phlebotomy.
• Basic office skills, including use of a PC, keyboarding, and office equipment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• At least 6 months of phlebotomy work experience.
• Full range of body motion, including handling and assisting patients; manual and finger dexterity; eye/hand coordination; and hearing acuity.

• Demonstrate competence in phlebotomy skills.
• Understand and perform specimen collection procedures for all age groups efficiently.
• Perform basic clerical and customer service duties with initiative, kindness, and professionalism.
• Handle and assist patients as needed.
