About The Position

The Phlebotomist II Territory role is based in Snellville, Georgia, and involves travel within an assigned territory to provide professional phlebotomy services at Patient Service Centers, Client Offices, and other sites. The position supports high-quality laboratory results through accurate specimen collection, patient identification, specimen preparation, and adherence to testing protocols. The phlebotomist works independently, handles complex collections and patient or client situations, and provides professional service while demonstrating the Quest 5Cs: Customer First, Care, Collaboration, Curiosity, and Continuous Improvement. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational weekends. Travel may be required up to 75%, and coverage across locations may be needed with minimal notice. Pay starts at $21.70 per hour. Salary offers consider relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, market factors, and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Requirements

Two years of phlebotomy experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of phlebotomy best practices and complex collection practices, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
Experienced phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Ability to work independently and perform accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced setting with minimal on-site supervision.
Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to change.
Keyboard and data-entry experience.
English language proficiency.
Travel up to 75%.
Phlebotomy certification is required in certain states, including California, Nevada, Washington, and Louisiana.
Ability to frequently lift up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds, with assistance as needed; perform repetitive hand motions requiring fine dexterity; stand or sit for extended periods; walk and stand frequently; and occasionally bend, kneel, reach, twist, or pull.
Ability to use a phone and computer extensively and communicate frequently in English with patients and clients.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program, medical assistant training, or paramedic training.
Professional medical certification, such as medical assistant, phlebotomy, or similar certification, is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

Perform specimen collections for a variety of tests, including venipuncture and capillary draws, following established procedures.
Handle difficult draws, including pediatric, geriatric, and hard-stick collections, with minimal error.
Obtain patient identification and signatures to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
Perform data entry as necessary, including patient registration, test order entry, and billing information.
Prepare specimens for transport and testing, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and storage as required by test orders.
Research test and client information and verify written and electronic orders using laboratory systems or directories of services.
Resolve routine patient and client concerns independently and escalate non-routine issues appropriately.
Provide professional, respectful, and efficient service; communicate collection procedures and address patient questions.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming collection environment and handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Provide coverage across Patient Service Centers and Client Offices within the assigned territory, sometimes with minimal notice.
Ensure office activities are completed accurately and on time.
Maintain reliable transportation and meet role travel expectations, including maintaining a valid driver's license and clean driving record, if applicable.
Obtain identification, enter billing information accurately, and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
Follow departmental policies, procedures, safety protocols, and compliance standards, including patient confidentiality requirements.
Use laboratory systems, directories, and corporate tools to confirm orders and documentation.
Support administrative tasks, including stocking supplies, sanitizing, maintaining logs, filing, using email, and answering phones.
Complete required training and maintain current phlebotomy skills and knowledge.
