About The Position

The Phlebotomist I represents the company to patients and collects quality blood samples for laboratory testing, preparing specimens according to established practices and procedures. The role involves direct patient contact, explaining procedures, and drawing specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately while fostering patient trust and confidence. The employee is expected to demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to the confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Under the direction of the area supervisor, the Phlebotomist I performs daily activities accurately and on time, maintains a safe and professional environment, and carries out forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing. The role also requires maintaining records and documentation and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 6 months of experience.
Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collection.
Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime.
Keyboard and data-entry experience.

Nice To Haves

Medical assistant or paramedic training.
Phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
One year of phlebotomy experience.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
