About The Position

ENTRY Phlebotomist I Job Overview: Pay Range: $12.75hr - $17.75hr Requirement/Must Have: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Phlebotomy experience is required, including internship or externship experience to understand the basics. Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience is required, such as retail or home health aide roles. Keyboard and data entry experience is required. Ability to perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. Willingness to work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to assist with coverage needs. High level of customer service skills is critical for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients upon arrival and address questions or concerns with care and compassion.
  • Assist patients with check-ins in the lobby using a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
  • Maintain the integrity and professional environment of the waiting area.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients and the public.
  • Utilize phlebotomy skills to assist with patient care and cover breaks for staff.
  • Explain scheduled procedures to patients in a safe and accurate manner to create an atmosphere of trust.
