About The Position

Performs venipunctures, arterial punctures, and capillary sampling to obtain blood samples for laboratory testing. Enters orders for testing and accessions specimens in the computer system. This position is located in the Outreach Laboratory in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It has been identified as a safety-sensitive position under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 0 - 6 month(s) related experience inclusive of on the job or classroom training in phlebotomy.
• Basic PC Skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to draw blood specimens.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, arterial punctures, and capillary sampling to obtain blood samples for laboratory testing.
• Enters orders for testing and accessions specimens in the computer system.
• Collects patient specimens competently and accurately.
• Supports the general operation of the Laboratory.
• Documents collection and processes specimens efficiently.
• Performs phlebotomy collections in a timely manner.
