About The Position

The Donor Collections Technician is part of the Blood Bank of Delmarva North Mobile Blood Drive Team, serving New Castle County, DE & Surrounding Areas of PA & MD. No prior medical experience is needed as training is provided for individuals who are welcoming and committed to providing excellent customer service to donors. This role offers the opportunity to travel, meet new people, and work in a fast-paced environment. The Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) provides the necessary training for both experienced phlebotomists and individuals new to the healthcare field to join their Mobile Blood Drive Team. The Donor Collections Technician will receive assignments for various mobile blood drives weekly at different locations, with schedules provided two weeks in advance. BBD emphasizes work-life balance and seeks individuals eager to enter a healthcare role. The position is considered "essential" during severe weather or emergency operation events.

Requirements

Must have your own reliable vehicle
Must have a valid Driver’s License
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Minimum of 2 years of face-to-face customer service experience
Minimum of 1 years of successfully managing multiple tasks in a fast paced working environment

Responsibilities

Conducts donor interviews in a confidential professional manner to determine donor eligibilities according to BBD standards.
Initiates whole blood collection/phlebotomy procedures and monitors the donor’s progress, according to BBD collection guidelines.
Prepares for donor interviews and blood collection by ensuring that interview materials and phlebotomy equipment and supplies are set up and/or operable in keeping with Quality Control standards.
