The Department of Religion and Philosophy at Bethel University (IN) is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty member in Philosophy starting August 2026. This position requires a full-time physical presence on campus in Mishawaka, Indiana. The Religion and Philosophy Department features programs in Philosophy, Christian Ministries (with concentrations in Biblical Studies, Children's Ministry, Christian Ministries, Sports Ministry, and Youth Ministry), Intercultural Studies, Pastoral Ministries (BA/MA), and Worship Arts. The successful candidate will teach and develop coursework in Philosophy in response to departmental needs and his/her area(s) of expertise, and also teach courses in a complementary discipline such as ministry, biblical studies, literature, etc. The candidate is expected to engage in professional service and scholarly activities. Normal faculty duties include 12 hours of undergraduate teaching per semester as well as departmental and professional responsibilities (including program assessment). As a Christian liberal arts institution, Bethel University desires that its faculty possess a vibrant Christian faith and an understanding of how that faith integrates with their discipline. Therefore, candidates are also required to submit a brief statement of faith and a statement on the integration of faith and learning. Bethel University is a Christian Liberal Arts institution affiliated with the Missionary Church.
