About The Position

The Bertolon School of Business (BSB) at Salem State University is seeking to fill an open-rank, full-time, tenure-track position in marketing in the marketing and decision sciences department in fall 2026. BSB is seeking candidates with expertise in marketing and related fields to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing. Previous college level teaching experience and scholarly publications in marketing and related fields are highly valued. Salem State is a teaching university, committed to our students' learning and growth, many of whom are the first in their family to go to college. Requirements

  • PhD/DBA in marketing or related discipline from an AACSB or equivalent accredited institution. ABD candidates may be considered if conferred by August 31, 2026.
  • Previous university/college teaching experience.
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity or professional impact in pedagogical and applied research in marketing or related fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous college level teaching experience and scholarly publications in marketing and related fields are highly valued.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness a plus.
  • Experience with and a commitment to teaching a heterogeneous student population with various backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles.
  • A demonstrated record of, or potential for, effective teaching in a variety of instructional formats (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, online).
  • Practitioner experience in marketing or related fields.
  • Body of scholarly work addresses issues regarding the welfare and representation of historically under-served communities in our region.
  • Documented activities in appropriately aligned teaching, scholarship/research, and service, including community-based endeavors.
