About The Position

NVIDIA is seeking a PhD research intern to apply modern AI methods to Earth system simulation and analytics. Research areas may include generative data assimilation, hybrid climate simulation, emulation of climate-model components, high-resolution AI-based autoregressive weather prediction, and dynamical downscaling. The role welcomes candidates with strong computer science skills and knowledge of physical sciences, as well as domain scientists with strong technical skills. The intern will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary research group on impactful problems in climate science and artificial intelligence. The team publishes at leading climate science and AI venues and works toward impact on NVIDIA products and academic and government climate prediction. The intern will have access to NVIDIA GPUs for research and will be mentored while collaborating with research colleagues, product teams, and external researchers. The internship hourly rate is USD 38–94, and the intern is eligible for intern benefits.
