The Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient role is based in Building C on the second floor at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, located between the operating room and an ICU within a busy, 256-bed inpatient setting. This pharmacy supports a high-volume operation with a team of approximately 18 pharmacy technicians, 20 pharmacists, and on-site management, and caregivers interact closely with nurses, pharmacists, buyers, and fellow technicians throughout the day. The role offers a high level of autonomy while working in close collaboration with pharmacists and includes responsibilities such as medication picking, receiving and handling narcotics, triaging workflow needs, answering phones, managing re-dispenses, and responding to the pharmacy door. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Licensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) upon or within 18 months of hire
Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program
Six months of hospital experience
Prior Inpatient experience

Responsibilities

Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
