Pharmacy Technician - Animal Hospital - Part Time
About The Position
Angell Animal Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their team. This part-time position requires knowledge of MA Board of Pharmacy regulations and previous retail pharmacy practice experience. The role offers a unique change for those currently working in retail pharmacy, allowing them to apply their skills in a veterinary hospital setting. Duties include managing pharmacy phone calls, processing prescription refill requests, communicating medication orders to external practices, collaborating with veterinary staff on prescriptions, filling medication and prescription food orders, and preparing pet-friendly medications.
Requirements
- Knowledge of MA Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Previous retail pharmacy practice experience
- Ability to work some weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Mandatory regular attendance and punctual presence
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time (67%-100% of scheduled shift)
- Ability to constantly move about within the pharmacy (67% - 100% of scheduled shift)
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and arms (answering telephone, typing, writing, labeling, retrieving labels/paper from printer) (34-67% of scheduled shift)
- Ability to frequently retrieve and return items (up to 15 lb.) from/to shelves (34%-67% of scheduled shift)
- Ability to frequently lift and carry bags of food up to 30 lb. over short distances and move them between shelves (34% to 67% of scheduled shift)
- Deeply enjoy working with people and caring for animals

Responsibilities
- Answering and addressing pharmacy phone calls
