About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician provides daily pharmacy technical services to inpatients, outpatients, and other Health Center departments while working under strict time constraints. The role responds promptly and efficiently to routine and emergency requests, requiring a moderate amount of independent judgment, advanced technical knowledge, and a high degree of accuracy. Good communication skills and IV compounding skills are necessary. An undetected compounding or drug-selection error could result in serious patient injury.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least six months of hospital or retail pharmacy experience, or completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program.
• Pharmacy Technician licensure in the State of Michigan.
• IV compounding skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Advanced technical knowledge and a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily pharmacy technical services to inpatients, outpatients, and other Health Center departments.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to routine and emergency requests.
