About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Mission of the Division of the Alaska Pioneer Homes is: "Providing elder Alaskans a home and community, celebrating life through its final breath." This position is a member of an outstanding pharmacy team that plays a vital role in providing care and support in a safe environment for the residents of six Alaska Pioneer Homes. The Division Values are: Positive Attitude, Love, Accountability, Trust, and Excellence. This position provides high quality pharmaceutical services through the nursing staff to assisted living home residents in a supportive, and caring manner. Under general supervision of a registered pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians perform paraprofessional duties in selecting, packaging, and labeling prescribed medications, maintaining pharmaceutical databases, and maintaining security of the pharmacy and pharmaceutical supplies.

Requirements

Three years of experience in a medical or medical supply field which required knowledge of pharmaceuticals and related supplies.
Licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
National Certification as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
Normal color vision is required.
Applicant must provide two (2) professional references (including work/supervisor-related) and three (3) character references (personal) with current contact information.
Applicant will be asked to submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check screening.
Applicant will be asked to provide current evidence to be free from active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) with test results dated within the last 12 months prior to start date.
Applicant will be asked to provide a copy of current CPR and First Aid certificate(s), if available.
Applicant will be asked to provide proof of licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
Must certify that they have a legal right to accept employment in the United States.
Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials being used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position and are required with each application.
Work experience needed to meet the minimum qualifications must be documented in the application.
