About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Mission of the Division of the Alaska Pioneer Homes is: "Providing elder Alaskans a home and community, celebrating life through its final breath." This position is a member of an outstanding pharmacy team that plays a vital role in providing care and support in a safe environment for the residents of six Alaska Pioneer Homes. The Division Values are: Positive Attitude, Love, Accountability, Trust, and Excellence. This position provides high quality pharmaceutical services through the nursing staff to assisted living home residents in a supportive, and caring manner. Under general supervision of a registered pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians perform paraprofessional duties in selecting, packaging, and labeling prescribed medications, maintaining pharmaceutical databases, and maintaining security of the pharmacy and pharmaceutical supplies.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in a medical or medical supply field which required knowledge of pharmaceuticals and related supplies.
  • Licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
  • National Certification as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
  • Normal color vision is required.
  • Applicant must provide two (2) professional references (including work/supervisor-related) and three (3) character references (personal) with current contact information.
  • Applicant will be asked to submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check screening.
  • Applicant will be asked to provide current evidence to be free from active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) with test results dated within the last 12 months prior to start date.
  • Applicant will be asked to provide a copy of current CPR and First Aid certificate(s), if available.
  • Applicant will be asked to provide proof of licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
  • Must certify that they have a legal right to accept employment in the United States.
  • Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials being used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position and are required with each application.
  • Work experience needed to meet the minimum qualifications must be documented in the application.
