About The Position
Nebraska Medicine is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician for its HUB Centralized Services, a closed-door centralized services pharmacy. This role involves prescription order entry, including data entry and claims adjudication using McKesson EnterpriseRx software, and assisting pharmacists with triaging patient phone calls. The position is located at the Central Fill location (approx. 114th and Dodge) and may involve shifts at the DOC Main campus in Omaha, NE. This is a benefits-eligible position with varied working hours, typically 8.5-hour shifts Monday-Friday, between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with some weekend and holiday work required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
- Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on the job training required.
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand held calculator required.
- Licensed Nebraska pharmacy intern or registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required.
- If registered as a Pharmacy Technician, certification within twelve months of registration date required.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience which demonstrates analytical ability, judgment, and interpersonal skills in pharmacy or healthcare preferred.
- College coursework in pharmacy preferred.
- Ability to type 20 wpm (with error correction) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and dispenses medication upon receiving prescription from prescribers.
- Processes all related duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prescription order entry (data entry and claims adjudication through McKesson EnterpriseRx software).
- Working alongside pharmacists while triaging/assisting patient phone calls.
