Pharmacy Technician (Outpatient, Full-time)
About The Position
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the correct and safe dispensing of prescription medications to the general public, in accordance with legal, ethical and professional guidelines; may also consult with and advise patients and physicians regarding prescribed and over-the-counter medications. This position is located at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE. The role of the Technician II, Retail Pharmacy plays an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve and assisting the pharmacists in accurately preparing and delivering prescription medication.
Requirements
- Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks

- Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods

- Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor
Nice To Haves
- 1-2 years of experience, preferred
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Retail pharmacy technician related experience preferred

- Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Organizes and assists pharmacist
- Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B
