About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care. The role requires a friendly approach and remarkable customer service to enhance patients’ overall health. The technician retrieves medications from inventory, enters customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system, creates prescription labels, adjudicates insurance claims, and completes paperwork related to prescription filling and drug orders. The role also includes ordering and stocking prescription medications, promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, prioritizing workload, communicating effectively, maintaining a clean and orderly pharmacy, and protecting patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
