About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician II - Certified ensures the safe and efficient preparation, dispensing, and management of medications within a hospital or healthcare facility. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, providing customer service to patients and staff, and collaborating with pharmacists to optimize patient care.

This is a part-time position working 24 hours per week on the day shift, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, medication preparation, and compounding techniques.
• Proficiency with pharmacy systems, including automated dispensing machines and inventory management software.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and record-keeping.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, pharmacists, and healthcare staff.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and hospital policies related to pharmacy operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• LPT — Licensed Pharmacy Tech in the state of employment, or PHAR-C — Certified Pharmacy Tech.
• BCLS — Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with preparing, compounding, labeling, and dispensing medications in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications using aseptic techniques and following USP guidelines.
• Manage inventory by monitoring medication stock, ordering supplies, and conducting regular audits.
• Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing, inventory transactions, and controlled substances in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, including medication storage checks and compliance reviews.
• Respond to questions from patients, nurses, and other healthcare staff about medication availability and pharmacy services.
• Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing systems, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Support pharmacists with medication reviews, medication history reconciliation, and other clinical activities as required.
• Follow safety protocols and infection control guidelines to maintain a clean and secure pharmacy environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
