Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician required
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
  • Strong typing, computer, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician license in the state, if applicable
  • Hospice and palliative care experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Framework LTC dispensing software and pharmacy automation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing medications for hospice patients and processing admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Manage phone inquiries, enters charge, and notifies pharmacist as needed.
  • Select, prepare, and label medications for dispensing; prepare FedEx labels for shipments.
  • Return unused medication bottles post-preparation and gather medications for automated dispensing machines.
  • Maintain inventory levels, communicate ordering needs, and restock supplies while removing outdated items.
  • Support equipment maintenance and ensures a clean, sanitized work environment.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy team members and hospice partners and assist in training new staff as needed.
