About The Position

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team! Rocking Horse Community Health Center (RHCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides healthcare services to some of the area’s most vulnerable populations. The organization is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician. This position will assist the Pharmacist(s) with prescription management and communication with prescribers regarding patient medications, assist patients over the phone and in person, responsible for confirming patient information prior to disbursing medications, and works with patients, prescribers, and other members of the healthcare team to provide beneficial pharmacy services. Experience with med sync program is a plus. This opportunity has a generous compensation package as a full-time employee. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous pharmacy experience, required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamental of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Excel software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software and the ability and skills to learn other software that pertains to the job.
  • A current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • An individual whom poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for this position.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of the role of Federally Qualified Health Centers as a safety net for all persons without regard for their ability to pay for services; appreciate patient-centered care in a medical home; and be committed to quality, comprehensive services through a team approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills are also necessary.
  • The Pharmacy Technician is required to understand the privacy policies and procedures.
  • Patient Health Information (PHI) is confidential, only the minimal amount of PHI necessary to accomplish the internal purpose is to be shared or released by staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with med sync program is a plus.
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician or active Certified Pharmacy Technician license from the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology preferred.
  • Previous pharmacy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
