About The Position

As a Front End Pharmacy Technician with Omnicare, a CVS Health company, you will perform order-entry tasks and collaborate with team members in the medication dispensing process at a closed-door pharmacy. The front-end team enters orders, works alongside pharmacists to support accuracy, and provides customer service. Omnicare serves skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and chronic care settings. Its pharmacies are not open to the public, and employees work in a supportive environment that enables customers to focus on patient care.

Requirements

Certification, temporary or full licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
Verifiable high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
PTCB National Certification.

Responsibilities

Perform order-entry tasks and collaborate with other team members in the medication dispensing process.
Triage customer service requests by department, urgency, and the information or response required.
Calculate and/or verify correct dosages based on prescriptions.
Assist in reviewing that narcotic prescriptions are returned in a timely manner.
Provide dispensing pharmacists with information regarding allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other items flagged by the computer.
Create and maintain accurate customer records.
